Model’s Hair Extensions Catch on Fire During Diddy’s Manhattan Hotel Party

The idea of performing solo for the very first time, after years of having a full band with you, must be daunting. If it was for Nicole Scherzinger, we sure could not tell. The former Pussycat Doll lead singer debuted a lot more than just her new solo act when she appeared on the famous British show “The X Factor, she brought out some seriously long hair extensions too!

That’s right, the 32-year-old rocked out to her very first solo performance of a new song, “Poison” as part of a heavily produced show on the X Factor recently. She came out wearing a red leather suit and, most noticeably, long hair extensions with a very ornate hair style. The look came together to create a stunning new style that mixed perfectly with the pyrotechnics and energy of her newest single and foray into solo performing.

How do you tell when a celebrity who is already known for their long luscious locks adds hair extensions?! When a celebrity has short hair, the shift is easy to notice and quick to be pointed out, but how can we tell when it’s someone who already has long hair? That question was answered recently as Whitney Port stepped out into the spotlight with longer, thicker and even shinier hair, thanks to hair extensions.

What would you do if your stylist chopped off all your hair without really asking your permission? When Nicole Richie sat down in her stylist’s chair, she didn’t know exactly what she wanted but slightly mentioned that she’d like to chop it. Before she could react the scissors flew and minutes later she was left with hair above her shoulders, a far cry from the hair extensions she usually rocks.

Considering her wedding is a rumored month away, what do you think of this hair extension chopping decision? When Richie first looked at herself in the mirror she panicked slightly, at which point her hair stylist said if she didn’t enjoy the cut he’d happily apply hair extensions to fix the length.

We saw some really fabulous hair last night at the AMA’s-Lots of gorgeous hair extensions (Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Taylor Swift). Some were hits and some were misses, but that is to be expected at every red carpet event. As the ultimate coif connoisseurs here at Hair’s the Bling, we thought we should share with you our top picks from the star studded evening, and we want to hear your opinion…hit or miss?

Pink’s Gone Silver: Pink gallivanted across the stage at the AMA’s, performing “Raise Your Glass” with as much electrifying energy as ever…and new silver hair; nothing can slow this mommy-to-be-down. We think her sleek silver swoosh is fresh and edgy. But is this a style something only an envelope-pushing celeb like Pink can pull off or is this a sneak-peek of a space-age future trend?

Kesha’s Over the Top Faux Hawk: Kesha has generated some major buzz about her unique style since her single “Tik Tok” topped the charts in 2009. And this year she showed up to the AMA’s with bejeweled brows and a punk-rocker faux hawk…Gaga-esque? Or is this faux hawk a faux pas?

One thing is for sure, she gave a show stopping, guitar-smashing performance later in the evening after popping out of an under water helmet, barely messing up a hair on her head.

Looks like Rhianna is once again setting a fashion trend by rocking an entirely new set of hair extensions! The 22-year-old singer, who is most often the epitome of fashion sense and style know-how, made an unusual faux-pas the other day that also serves as a brilliant reminder to all the rest of us: Never forget your roots!

No, we’re not talking about thanking all the people that helped us get to where we are today; we’re quite literally talking about your hair roots. When adding hair extensions, especially hair extensions of a color that is not natural to our own hair, it’s vital to ensure that your roots match your extensions.

Rhianna’s new fishtail braided extensions, in bright red, don’t exactly match up with her roots below, an error she most often does not make. Celebrity Hair Extensions: Who Does, Who Doesn’t?

Real? Fake? Who knows any more. Hair extension technology has taken some pretty substantial and impressive leaps over the past few years and the ability to spot who does and who does not use hair extensions on the red carpet is quite the challenge. We’ve had a “round 1” of this little quiz game before, so today we’re going to test your knowledge once again!

That’s right, the people over at BellaSugar.com hosted another game of “Do They/Don’t They” to help see who can actually tell the celebrities that are faithful hair extension users and those that are all natural. I’ll say this, I fared better on the first quiz, but this one had some that surprised me!

Nevertheless, from Kate Beckinsale to Mandy Moore, Cameron Diaz to Angelina Jolie, some major A-list celebrities are in the quiz and we’d be fascinated to hear how you do. Wardrobe malfunctions, since Janet Jackson’s infamous Super Bowl performance, have become something pretty common in the celebrity world. Something’s always going wrong with dresses, pants, shirts and clothing. The question is, however, how do celebrities deal with malfunctions of another kind: Hair Extensions Malfunctions?! That’s a question that many female celebrities have had to answer, most recently Michelle Williams, formerly of Destiny’s Child.
